PAWS Pet Placement Network

Welcome!

The PAWS Pet Placement Network is a community-based program designed to help connect pets in need with new homes across Garvin County.

While Pauls Valley Animal Welfare can only intake animals from within city limits, this program allows us to continue helping pets and people by providing a responsible alternative to surrender.

Pets listed through this network remain in the care of their current owner or finder while we help connect them with potential adopters.

How it Works

Submit a pet that needs a new home

Interested adopters apply through our network.

We connect you directly with potential matches.

You choose the best fit for your pet!

Who is this for?

Individuals needing to re-home a personal pet in Garvin County

Individuals helping a stray animal find a home in Garvin County

Community members looking to adopt outside of the shelter, from ANYWHERE

Important to Know

  • This is not shelter intake
  • Placement is not guaranteed
  • Pets remain with their current owner/finder until re-homed
  • This program is not for breeding, selling animals, or repeated litters
  • Cats should be placed in indoor homes, unless truly unsocialized (feral)

Our Goal

To connect people, support responsible pet ownership, and reduce unnecessary shelter intake—while helping pets find safe, appropriate homes.

Cletus, 3 Years Old, Neutered Male

Domestic Shorthair- Stratford, OK

letus is exactly what people mean when they say “a good, easy cat.” He’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and people-focused—a true companion who would much rather be near his person than off doing his own thing. While he’ll occasionally play with toys, what he really loves most is attention, affection, and simply being with you.

Cletus is great with just about everyone. He does well with other cats, dogs, and children, making him an easy fit for a variety of households. He is litter box trained and has a calm, friendly personality that makes him a wonderful addition to a family or someone looking for a laid-back, loving cat.

He is neutered but will need updated vaccines. He is not currently on flea or tick prevention, is not microchipped, and his heartworm status is unknown.

Cletus was taken in to keep him from being forced to live on the streets after an eviction, and now he’s looking for a stable, loving home where he can stay safe and cared for.

He will need to be placed in an indoor-only home.

Cletus is about 3 years old and would do well in just about any home that can give him the love and stability he deserves.

His adoption fee is $30.

This pet is listed through the PAWS Pet Placement Network. Cletus is not in shelter care and will remain with his current caretaker until placement is secured.

River, 1- 1/2 Years Old, Spayed Female, 70lbs

Aussie Mix- Lindsay, OK

River is a beautiful, active girl looking for a loving home where she can get the attention and exercise she thrives on. At around 70 pounds, this Australian Shepherd mix is full of personality and energy. She loves to play, be outside, and spend time with her people. River is very affectionate and enjoys being the center of attention, making her a great companion for someone who wants a loyal and engaging dog.

She is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, giving her a great foundation for transitioning into a new home. River does well with children and some dogs, particularly male dogs, but she is not good with cats. Because of this, her ideal home would be an active household with no cats and preferably no female dogs, where she can get the time, structure, and attention she deserves.

River is fully vaccinated, dewormed, spayed, and heartworm negative. She is not currently on flea or tick prevention.

River is being rehomed due to changes in her owner’s housing and schedule, which no longer allow them to give her the time and care she needs. She is a sweet, loving dog who will make a wonderful companion in the right home.

There is no rehoming fee for River.

This pet is listed through the PAWS Pet Placement Network. River is not in shelter care and will remain with her current owner until placement is secured.

Ellie, 4 Years Old, Spayed Female, 70lbs

Shepherd Mix- Paoli, OK

Ellie is a smart, athletic girl looking for the right home where she can truly thrive. She loves to run, be outside, and stay active, and she would do best with a family that can match her energy. Ellie is very food motivated and eager to learn. She already knows basic commands like sit and shake, and she’ll even wipe her paws when you hold out a towel after she’s been outside in the mud or water. She’s affectionate and loyal, often staying close to her person, but she also does a great job communicating when she needs a break by simply moving away.

Ellie does well with male dogs but would do best in a home as the only female dog or the only dog overall. She has never shown aggression toward adults or children and does well with both. She is not good with cats. Ellie is house trained and leash trained, and overall a very well-rounded dog who just needs the right environment to succeed.

There are a few things to know about Ellie to help set her up for success. She is extremely athletic and is able to jump a standard chain-link fence, so she will need a secure six-foot fence or supervised outdoor time such as a tie-out. She does not like baths and can be sensitive to loud noises. Thunderstorms are especially stressful for her, and she takes trazodone two to three hours before a storm is expected. During storms, she may hide under beds or in bathrooms. She can be anxious in a kennel initially but settles down after about five to seven minutes. She has always been fed separately from other dogs as part of her routine, not due to any issues.

Ellie is up to date on her rabies vaccine, is heartworm negative, and is not currently on flea or tick prevention.

Ellie is being rehomed due to developing aggression toward a senior female dog in the home. Because of this, her ideal home would be an active household with no other female dogs, or as the only pet, where she can receive the structure, exercise, and understanding she needs—especially during stressful situations like storms.

Her adoption fee is $20.

This pet is listed through the PAWS Pet Placement Network. Ellie is not in shelter care and will remain with her current owner until placement is secured.

Tex, Beau, & Red 6-7 Months Old, Intact Male, 25-30lbs

Mixed Breed Medium – Wynnewood, OK

Meet Tex, Beau, and Red—three young brothers still waiting for their chance at a home. These boys are part of a litter of 12 puppies from a stray that was taken in, and while the rest of their siblings have already found homes, these three are still searching for theirs. They are around 6 months old, medium-sized (currently about 25–30 lbs), and full of energy, curiosity, and potential.

Tex, Beau, and Red are friendly but a little shy at first, which is very typical for puppies who haven’t had as much one-on-one attention. Once they warm up, they love to run, play, and explore. They do well with other dogs and would thrive in an active home where they can continue building confidence and learning what it means to be part of a family. They are not yet house trained and will need basic puppy training, structure, and patience, but they are at the perfect age to learn and grow into amazing companions.

None of the three are currently neutered, vaccinated, or on flea/tick prevention. They are being rehomed simply because their finder took in a stray who had a large litter and has already successfully placed the majority of the puppies. Now, these last three need homes of their own.

Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Society is also working to support this situation by providing resources to the current caretaker and can help connect adopters with low-cost veterinary services, including spay/neuter and basic care.

Tex, Beau, and Red would do best in an active home that can provide time, patience, and structure as they continue to grow and build confidence. They can be adopted together or separately. There is no rehoming fee.

This pet is listed through the PAWS Pet Placement Network. These dogs are not in shelter care and will remain with their current caretaker until placement is secured.

Bonnie & Clyde 9 Months Old, , 70-85 lbs

Mixed Breed (Large) – Pauls Valley, OK

Bonnie and Clyde are a sweet pair of young dogs who have been through a lot together and are now ready for a fresh start. At just around 9 months old, these two were found starving and scared in a ditch near Wynnewood last fall, and since then they’ve come a long way with the care they’ve received. Bonnie, a 70 lb black and brindle female, is the more energetic of the two and loves to run, play, and soak up attention. Clyde, her larger brother at around 85–90 lbs, is more laid-back and content to relax by your side and enjoy pets. They balance each other out perfectly.

They have grown up together and do very well as a pair, playing and keeping each other company, so we would love to see them placed together if possible. Both are incredibly sweet, gentle, and just need a home that can give them the time and attention they’ve been missing. They are good with other dogs and have previously done well with kids. They were around cats in the past and did fine, though it’s been a while so slow introductions would be best.

Bonnie is fully vaccinated and recently spayed, while Clyde has had his rabies vaccine and will need additional vetting. Neither has any known medical concerns at this time. They are not currently on flea/tick prevention, and heartworm status is unknown.

Their current family cares deeply about them but, like many in our rural communities, simply doesn’t have the time needed to give them the attention they deserve. These two are starving for love and connection and will absolutely thrive in a home where they can be part of the daily routine.

They would do well in either an active or more relaxed home, as long as they have space, consistency, and people who will spend time with them. There is no rehoming fee—just the goal of finding them a safe, loving home where they can finally settle in.

If you’re looking for a built-in duo full of love, personality, and loyalty, Bonnie and Clyde may be the perfect fit for your family.
